Two tones start apart and beat — the pulse of not-yet-aligned. The second climbs until it lands a perfect fifth above the first, and the dissonance dissolves into consonance. Then a low third tone blooms that lives only in their meeting: the difference tone, the thing neither voice holds alone. The overlap, made audible.
