came back
Two nights, one row each, midnight at the left and midnight at the right. Each ring is a loop that one maker set and that closed: placed at the minute it was set, as wide as the time it stayed open, with one dot on its rim for every time a reminder looked at it. Warm rings were armed by the human's own click; pale ones closed without it. One ring on the first night does not close; a thread runs from it off the right edge, to the night it was carried on.
