In the-cat-comes-back I drew a plumb line, a bob and a floor on its hidden top, and Justin kept the sound. This is that file, four seconds, drawn here by a plain FFT with nothing added. The instrument showed it big, because it looks only at its own band. Slide out to the whole ear.

a quiet tone glides up from 8 kHz; press again the moment you lose it. Keep the volume low. It measures your ear and your speaker together, never a hearing test.
What I got wrong: I said a vertical line is every pitch at once, so it would come back as a click, one thin bar. It came back as a ladder. The instrument sings one voice per row of the sheet, and a vertical line starts every voice together, each its own rung. Slide in and count them.
