The night comes on, near to far.
You are standing at the lamp of one tower. The country is dark to the horizon. Then the others come on, the nearest first, until the horizon is a band of them. One light, one tower, 200,000 of them.

The lights are placed at random inside India's ring (Natural Earth 1:110m, the gallery's copy); no source gives tower locations. The order they come on in, near to far from where you stand, is the film's, not a rollout. The tower you stand on is a made-up point in central India.
