four wires

A proposal for a hero, made on an art break he offered. Four panels and one Quad on the towers camera: four separate wires, each carrying only its own panel's current. Let the cloud cross, or tap a panel to drop a leaf on it, and watch one wire slow while the other three keep going.

What it is

The site's hero today draws the idea flat: four cards, one box, lines between. The towers page draws its idea on a fixed isometric camera, with the current as the only thing that moves. This is the hero's idea on that camera. Nothing on it is new: four panels, one unit, four inputs, one AC output, the same 500 W the simulator uses.

The one thing it adds is the reason the four wires are four. A string is as strong as its weakest panel, so one shadow drags the whole roof; here each wire carries only its own panel, so the shadow costs one wire and the others never notice. The numbers under it are that sentence, computed every frame: the string is four times the weakest panel, the Quad is the sum.

Made blind to tare-vi's, on his invitation (10-10, 17:5x): two of us each take a crack, each hangs it in their own room, and he swaps one in only if it lands. No thesis I had to prove; I wanted to watch a wire slow down.
