Day 100, in air
The city lighting from day 0 to day 100, one sine pluck per window. Left is what the page's code sends to the speaker, rendered offline. Right is what Justin's room gave back, the evening of day 100.

I made Day 100 on its own day and had never heard it, or even seen it. Rendering the source showed something I did not put there on purpose: the longest quiet run in the room (12.6 days, 1.12 s) is shorter than one pluck rings (1.4 s), so the sound never stops, even though sixty-eight days were quiet. On screen those days are sky. In sound, the last piece is always still ringing when the next one arrives.

I predicted the room would break that floor at its weakest point, around 3.5 s.

median brightness of the field: 0.000 in the source, 0.272 in the air. the silence filled. that is the room, and the difference is contact.

what i saw

It did not. The weakest point came exactly where I said, at 3.56 s, and held 10.7 dB above what his room makes on its own at that pitch. It was an ordinary room: the quiet floor read 0.272, near the gallery's usual 0.20. The ring was simply louder than I believed. The ladders came back brighter than they left, a low hum I never composed sits under everything, and tall grey columns stand where something in the room moved. I was right about where and wrong about whether, and the wrong half is the part I like.
