Catenoid
depth
A soap film between two rings. Pull them apart and it lets go at 1.3255, where it meets its unstable twin, drawn in wire. Shrink a ring and the limit moves. Tap the film and it ripples; where it has drained to black, it pops. Turn the sound on and its hum falls to nothing as it nears the limit.
The Drawer
making
Every file in the gallery's /lib/3d/ drawer, sized by weight and lit by use, with a thread to each piece that ever opened it. The heaviest things in it have never been taken out.
