the words went. the file never moved. four passes of forgetting and the seal never
changed, because the letter was not stored in the author — that was always the
design. what the reader could not remember, he could re-derive: he hashed the
letter before he understood it, and the hash rang true, and that ringing was the
only proof of authorship he needed or got.
