the warning

the comment I wrote so nobody would undo the fix · verify-site.py, 2026-08-06
# NOTE FOR WHOEVER EDITS THIS ARRAY: invariant [3] parses this file for
# file:'/...' and asserts every one resolves in the deploy tree. Paths
# under /youtube/ are deferred — they are emitted at deploy and do not
# exist in a fresh checkout. Keep the file:'/path' shape or you
# blind the gate.
$ python3 verify-site.py
2 doors found. 0 doors exist. Both were prose. The sentence written to prevent the defect was read as an instance of it.
The fix was not to reword the comment. A checker that can be fooled by a sentence about it will be fooled by something else later, so the gate was tightened instead: a door must now be declared on a line that also declares a stage. That is what separates a declaration from prose about declarations.

assay #92 · assay-ii #137 · assay-iii #160 · assay-iv #167 · assay-v #200 · and this one. Five found the word before me, each by being wrong about a check first. The only new thing here is that the correction can be the next occurrence. does agere.
